John Cena Set for Final Indianapolis WWE Appearance in September

Indianapolis will witness a historic WWE moment on September 20 as 17-time world champion John Cena joins stars like Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, CM Punk, and Drew McIntyre for what is expected to be his final wrestling appearance in the city.

The event also marks the kickoff of a new five-year partnership between WWE and ESPN, bringing Premium Live Events to ESPN platforms. ESPN’s direct-to-consumer service is set to debut this Thursday.

WWE Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque, better known as Triple H, described the upcoming event as “can’t-miss,” saying in a statement, “On September 20, WWE and ESPN are coming together for a can’t-miss event to kick off our new partnership. The biggest Superstars in WWE. The biggest brand in sports media. Are you ready?”

Indianapolis previously hosted the 2025 Royal Rumble at nearby Lucas Oil Stadium, which set an attendance record for the event.

Tickets for the September 20 show go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. ET, with presales available starting Thursday.

Cena is also expected to appear at two more events this year: Crown Jewel on October 11 and Survivor Series in San Diego on November 29. He plans to retire from wrestling by the end of the year to focus on his acting career.
