Three Children Die in Kallar Syedan Incident
An accident happened near Takal Road in Kallar Syedan tehsil. When people nearby heard about it, some workers quickly came and pulled out the bodies of the children, according to eyewitnesses.
Sadly, all three children had already died before help arrived. The victims were 10-year-old Usman, 9-year-old Tayyaba, and 6-year-old Hamza.
Rescue teams brought their bodies to a nearby hospital in an ambulance. After checking, doctors confirmed that all three were dead.
PDMA Issues Flood Warning in Punjab
At the same time, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in Punjab has warned about possible flooding in the Chenab, Jhelum, and Ravi rivers and nearby drains.
From July 7 to July 9, river water levels are expected to rise a lot. The Chenab River at Maralla headworks may face a high flood.
There is also a risk of medium to high flooding in the drains near the Ravi and Chenab rivers.
PDMA also warned about flash floods in the mountain channels (Rod Kohis) of Dera Ghazi Khan, and urban flooding in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Rawalpindi divisions.
Authorities like Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and WASA have been told to prepare. Rescue 1122 has been asked to be ready with emergency supplies, including fuel.
PDMA said people must be informed about the situation and provided with food and clean drinking water. It also asked for the safe evacuation of people and animals living near the rivers.
PM Orders Full Emergency Preparation
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has told the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), rescue teams, and other authorities to stay alert because of the heavy rains and possible floods.
He ordered them to take safety steps right away, especially in areas near the Indus River and other rivers, to protect people and reduce danger.
