Surprising claims against popular musician Kanye West have surfaced in a new lawsuit filed in California on Tuesday. The case claims that West has been bullying Black staff on a regular basis and has called Adolf Hitler a “innovator.”
Trevor Phillips, a former employee of West, allegedly suffered discrimination, harassment, and retaliation from West, also known as Ye, according to AFP. Phillips worked for two of West’s businesses for almost a year, and he claims to have seen the rapper’s troubling behavior firsthand.
The lawsuit claims that West would treat Black employees unfairly while favoring his white coworkers. According to Phillips, West made disparaging comments about Jews, saying they were out to get him and stole his money.
Furthermore, according to the complaint, the 46-year-old hailed Hitler and gave him credit for the development of vehicles during a meal at a posh restaurant in Los Angeles. However, historical evidence mostly refutes this assertion.
Additionally, Phillips has charged West with telling two kids at the school he created, Donda Academy, to shave their heads and threatening to put them in cages. Furthermore, it is said that West imposed severe physical appearance requirements on his employees, warning them that failure to comply would result in firing.
After quitting his job at West’s enterprises in August 2023, Phillips is requesting $35,000 to cover the losses he says he sustained. Carney R. Shegerian, his attorney, stressed the need to confront anti-Semitic and discriminatory remarks, saying that they have no place in society.
Following West public apologies to Jews for prior anti-Semitic statements last year, this lawsuit has been filed. Kim Kardashian, a famous entrepreneur and former girlfriend of the rapper, has expressed support for the publicly discussing mental health concerns of her ex-boyfriend. She has asked for compassion while the musician works through his problems.
West career is negatively impacted by this legal dispute, which also raises concerns about responsibility in the entertainment sector.
