At least five people have died and several others are hurt after a six-storey residential building collapsed in the Baghdadi area of Lyari on Friday.
After the collapse, the Chief Minister ordered a full report from officials and told rescue teams to quickly save anyone trapped under the debris. He also asked hospitals to give urgent medical help to the injured.
So far, six injured people have been pulled out from the rubble. The Chief Minister was told about the rescue work and asked the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) to give details about weak and dangerous buildings in the city. He said it’s very important to find unsafe buildings to stop such accidents in the future and protect lives.
CM Murad Ali Shah also warned that anyone who ignores safety problems will be held responsible.

Rescue teams arrived quickly at the scene. So far, five people, including three women, have been rescued and taken to the hospital.
According to Chhipa Welfare, five people have died, and around 20 to 25 more are still trapped under the rubble.
Rescue workers said that a nearby building was also damaged in the collapse.
Search and rescue efforts are still going on.
Just four days earlier, a six-storey building in the Kharadar area had partially collapsed when the roof of a connecting corridor fell in. Luckily, no one was hurt in that incident.
