Karachi Woman Killed in Wedding ‘Aerial Firing’ Incident
Karachi – Tragedy struck a wedding celebration in Malir when Fatima Ahmed lost her life after being hit by a bullet, reportedly fired by her uncle during the festivities. Fatima was attending her cousin’s wedding when the incident occurred.
According to SSP Malir Abdul Khaliq Pirzada, the accused, Nisar Gul — father of the groom, Huzaifa — fired shots into the air during the wedding. One of the bullets tragically struck his niece.
Police confirmed the firing took place inside the house, with Fatima being hit either during or immediately after the ceremony. Rescue teams rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead, and her body was later taken for a post-mortem examination.
Authorities have arrested Nisar Gul and filed a murder case under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Investigations are ongoing to determine if others were involved in the aerial firing.
