Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau’s Sparks Cool After High-Profile Montreal Dinner
Katy Perry and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, whose Montreal dinner date made headlines last month, appear to have slowed down on their nonstop texting, according to sources familiar with the situation.
“She’s busy, he’s busy. They have a lot going on, and the newness has worn off,” an insider told a foreign publication. “The budding affair has waned over the past two weeks. But there’s nothing negative about it. They just aren’t in constant communication anymore. That could change, but for now, it’s cooled off.”
Another source added that Trudeau wasn’t quite prepared for the media frenzy following his dinner with the “Dark Horse” singer, especially in the wake of Perry’s split from actor Orlando Bloom.
“I know for a fact that Justin wasn’t thrilled about the pictures getting out. It was a first date—just a first date! And then the photos came out, and it became this huge thing, which isn’t what he wanted,” the source explained. “It can be a lot and overwhelming.”
Perry recently ended her six-year engagement with Bloom. The former couple shares a five-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom. Trudeau, meanwhile, has three children from his 18-year marriage to Sophie Grégoire, which ended in 2023.
