A medal was presented to 15-year-old Islam Khalilov by the Religious Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Council of Muftis of Russia on Tuesday. Khalilov saved several lives during the attack on the Crocus City music hall in the Moscow region last week.
According to AA, Khalilov was given the Medal for Service to Muslims of Russia in recognition of his valor at the event that took place in the Moscow Cathedral Mosque before to the congregational Friday prayer.
The award was given by the religious association’s leader, Ravil Gaynutdin.
“I am aware that the experience will live on in your heart as a scar for the remainder of your life,” he stated. Though the most significant item is ingrained in the memory of our whole society, people, and all the peoples that sent their condolences to our president, the Russian people, what you did will also live on in your memory.
Khalilov unlocked doors and gave instructions for escape when he noticed a sizable gathering of people fleeing the besieged music hall.
On March 22, gunmen opened fire on patrons at the theater in Krasnogorsk, a city in the Moscow area.
At least 144 people have perished as a result, despite the fact that four people have been charged with terrorism.
