KIA will launch the Sorento, its second crossover, in Pakistan this Friday. The Sorento will be Kia’s latest offering after Picanto, Grand carnival, and Sportage.
The Sorento will come in three variants For the Pakistani market. The two lower variants will come with a 2.4l engine mated to a 6-speed Automatic transmission with either Front Wheel Drive (FWD) or All Wheel Drive (AWD). The top-of-the-line Sorento will come with a 3.5l V6 engine and an 8-speed Auto but only comes in Front Wheel Drive (FWD).
According to a company’s notification, the Sorento will cost you Rs6,999,000, for the 2.4 FWD while 2.4 AWD is Rs7,999,000, and the top of the line 3.5 FWD around Rs8,399,000. Not to mentions these prices are ex-factory prices for the car.
As for the spec goes, the Sorento comes loaded with a host of great features. Such as Electronic chronic mirror, smart tailgate with memory function, wireless charger, electronic parking brake, and more.
In terms of safety, there is no comprise either. The crossover comes fitted with 6 airbags, Vehicle stability management, hill control assists, and a front and rear parking sensor along with a rear parking camera with guided lines.
Despite being a crossover, Sorento competes with Fortuner in a market that has been dominated by Toyota for a while now.
Fortuner, which has been around since 2013, has seen a fair share of success but that might be the case now. considering the success of the Sportage, the Sorento does have the potential to damage Fortuner’s sales figures and popularity.
