Bollywood actor and dancer Kishore Aman Shetty has been arrested by Mangaluru police for possession of drugs.
According to sources, reality show Dance India Dance and film ABCD star were allegedly trying to sell the drugs he bought from Mumbai.
According to the Mangaluru police commissioner, the 30-year-old actor-dancer was selling drugs along with his accomplice Aqeel Nausheel in Mangalore city of Karnataka.
A case has been registered against Kishore Shetty and Nausheel under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) and police will also probe their drug connection to Mumbai.
Kishore was a participant in India’s popular dance reality show Dance India Dance and was also part of hit film ABCD: Any Body Can Dance.
Kishore is a well-known name in the dance industry because of his extraordinary dance skills and talent. This South Indian boy was born in Kulaigudde, Karnataka, in a financially weak family.
He was brought up by his single mother Rathnavati as his father deserted them when he was only six years old. Rathnavati raised him and his three brothers alone due to which he left his studies when he was sixteen years old. He became a school dropout after the tenth standard.
A journey with hardship was the reality of his life, but he never abandoned hope. He took training from ShubKiran for free of cost in the beginning. After that, he joined Ravindra to learn Marshal Arts and fire dance. The real change happened when he worked with XLNC which is a Bangalore based dance group. It was this group who built confidence in him, and he started believing in his dreams again despite the criticism received by his neighbors. Kishore gave auditions for the dance reality show ‘Dance India Dance’ and got selected in it.
He participated in it and gained compliments from all over the country. He reached in the top eight contestants of the show, making the whole south India proud of him. In this, he worked under the expert guidance of Geeta Kapoor who was his Dance mentor in the show.
He was one of the members of ‘Geeta Ki Gang.’ Remo D’Souza, Terrence Lewis, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Mithoon Chakraborty are other celebrities who provided him with their guidance. He took the opportunity of performing in the Zee Rishtey Awards in 2010.
He masters freestyle, Hip-Hop, and B-boying. With his self-motivated self, he turned to Bollywood and succeeded there also. He worked in ABCD (Any Body Can Dance), the first Dance film of India, directed by Remo D’Souza. He worked as a choreographer as well as an actor in the movie.
He shared the stage with Lauren Gottlieb, Prabhu Deva, Ganesh Acharya, Kay Kay Menon, and Punit Pathak in this movie. Kishore is the real example of the quote “Humans can write their destiny.’ With his talent, dedication, and commitment, he carved a niche in the dance industry and became an inspiration for generations to come.
