In a statement, Gandapur described such claims as “baseless” and labeled them as mere propaganda, Express News reported.
Speaking to the media in Peshawar, Gandapur clarified that there are no differences between him and Bushra Bibi, wife of former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
He emphasized that the focus remains on securing Imran Khan’s release from detention.
The chief minister accused authorities of filing baseless cases against PTI leaders and workers. He reiterated the party’s commitment to its objectives and plans, despite what he described as politically motivated challenges.
Previously, differences within PTI leadership over participation in the planned Islamabad protest came to the fore on November 25, as KP CM Gandapur engaged in an altercation with Bushra Bibi, wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, Express News reported.
Quoting its sources, the report added, that Bibi also came out with the intention to lead the march. It said that Gandapur disagreed with Bibi’s plans for leading the protest march from Peshawar, arguing that she had no involvement in politics.
Following the argument, Bushra Bibi remained in her car, while Gandapur left for his residence.
Upcoming address to KP assembly
Gandapur announced that he would address the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly later in the day. During his speech, he intends to outline the recent developments and the party’s strategy for the future.
These statements come amid heightened political tensions and ongoing efforts by PTI leaders to rally support for their imprisoned party chairman.
Further details are expected following Gandapur’s address to the provincial assembly.
In a recent development, Islamabad police filed eight cases against the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), including its founder Imran Khan, along with thousands of party workers, in connection with protests in the capital’s D-Chowk area.
The FIRs name PTI founder Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi, party leaders Ali Amin Gandapur, Salman Akram Raja, Sheikh Waqas Akram, and several local leaders, as well as thousands of unidentified individuals.
