Lahore Residents to Start Receiving Garbage Collection Bills Next Week
Lahore – The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has announced that residents will begin receiving bills for garbage collection starting next week.
According to LWMC sources, the new sanitation charges will initially target upscale neighborhoods and commercial areas, with fees calculated on a per-marla basis. The rollout will gradually extend to all nine towns across the city.
The bills will be delivered directly to residents by LWMC’s revenue and field operations teams. Citizens will have the option to pay through banks or popular online payment apps, a company spokesperson added.
Under the new system, buildings ranging from five to 40 marlas in urban areas will be charged between Rs 300 and Rs 5,000. In rural parts of the city, similarly sized properties will face bills ranging from Rs 200 to Rs 400.
The LWMC confirmed that the sanitation billing system will come into effect once it receives final approval from the provincial cabinet.
