Lahore Police Arrest Two in Mobile Phone Smuggling Case
LAHORE – Police have arrested two men involved in a mobile phone smuggling network in Lahore. The operation was led by SHO Faisal Town Afzal Rauf and his team.
According to SP Model Town Akhlaq Ullah Tarar, the suspects were tracked down using CCTV footage and mobile phone location data.
The accused used to snatch mobile phones, pack them as parcels, and send them to Peshawar through cargo services. One of them was seen on CCTV running away after stealing a phone.
Police said the arrested suspects, Shehzad and Hassan, are repeat criminals. They have been involved in theft and robbery cases before.
During the raid, police recovered:
10 stolen mobile phones
Rs200,000 cash
2 pistols
A case has been registered against them. Police are now conducting more raids to catch others in the gang.
