Lexus is reimagining itself

Lexus promised big things in store this year as it revealed on Monday its 2020 global sales results. for instance, On the numbers, sales went up, down, and then up again amid the coronavirus pandemic. The news that really stuck out in the announcement is the brand’s intention for a makeover, starting this year.

Lexus provided the first glimpse of its new electric concept at the beginning of December;  certainly, Toyota’s luxury division is back with a second sneak peek.

The original teaser depicted the vehicle’s front fascia, however, the fresh shadowy photo appears to be showing the rear end. In an attempt to unlock more design details, we’ve dialed up the brightness of the image.

Aside from the illuminated “Lexus” lettering on the tailgate;  and integrated spoiler lip and slim LED taillights arranged horizontally.


It remains to be seen whether this concept is the next car in line to get a light bar at the rear – a design feature that has become widespread in recent years. The muscular rear bumper has some impressively wide hips;  The low horizontal bar that vaguely looks like a wide air intake.

Koji Sato, the company’s president and chief branding officer, noted that the concept “illustrates our intentions for the future, and marks the beginning of the next generation of Lexus.” He stopped short of providing additional details, but the company’s plans for the future are fairly easy to decipher.

it’s very likely going to electrify its range while reinventing its design language for the 2020s; adding more technology — including advanced semi-automated systems — to its cars.
