Loki: 5 Best Twitter Reactions From The First Episode

After the first episode of Loki streamed on Disney+, fans took to Twitter to express their opinions. These were just some of the best comments.

5. The Multiverse Of Sadness:

Fans have gone through a roller coaster of emotions with these Disney+ series, especially the sad and painful moments that many of the characters experienced. Wanda’s devastating grief at Westview and Bucky’s release from HYDRA’s brainwashing were some of the most emotional moments in the MCU. Now, Loki joins the list as he tearfully watches his original timeline and his redeeming moments.

User @Wandassadness recognized the emotional theme in all these shows, which is that everyone at some point faces immense heartbreak or sadness. It seems coincidental that all these characters under emotional distress were former villains who eventually redeemed themselves. Regardless, all these moments have hit deep on fans’ feelings, and it hurts.

4. The Hypocrisy Is Real:

Nothing feels worse than seeing the hypocrisy of those who break the rules of time travel. The TVA follows a sacred timeline designed by the Time-Keepers, and anyone who sways from the original timeline is charged with changing it. The Loki variant tried to defend himself by pointing fingers at the Avengers, but their time heist was planned.

User @virgorogers accused Steve Rogers of committing the same crime, particularly traveling back to the 1940s. Yet, he received no charges. Not only is this hypocritical, but it also shows the problem that Loki has been mistreated throughout his life to become the villain he once was while heroes who commit similar crimes face no consequence.

3. TVA & The Eternals Share Something In Common:

While the Eternals movie will not release until November, there is a lot of hype around it. However, some fans learned how powerful the Eternals are, even so, that they could have defeated Thanos and stopped The Snap. Yet, they sat back and did nothing.

Similarly, TVA is another powerful entity that could have prevented The Snap but let it happen anyway, showing no compassion or mercy. As @natashasmygem tweeted, TVA and the Eternals did nothing while the Avengers did all the work that resulted in years of pain and suffering. There were plenty of avoidable sacrifices if they just chimed in.

2. Peggy Carter, Is That You?:

It appears that Loki was not the only familiar person caught by the TVA. As Loki attempts to escape from the TVA and ends up in a hallway, someone pops up from behind, with a woman under arrest. However, it does not show a clear image of who. Fortunately, fans are great at finding subtle and hidden details.

User @cosmic_marvel took a closer look at the person, and it seems that the woman is donning a 40s hairstyle and is wearing a short blue dress. Of course, the figure oddly resembles Peggy Carter. While viewers will be inquiring about this for a long time, many will speculate that the person is indeed Peggy Carter, and she somehow broke the sacred timeline.

1. Too Many Emotions To Comprehend:

Loki is the God of Mischief, but that does not mean he has no feelings or love for his family. All he wanted was the respect and admiration that his brother always received. While it did create a sibling rift between Loki and Thor, Loki always loved him and his family despite the lies and deceit.

In the episode, Loki variant skims through his sacred timeline and watches the events that unfolded with his family, including his reconciliation with Odin and Thor. User @perfxctlynat perfectly sums up the fan’s reaction as Loki tearfully but happily smiles as his original self makes amends with Thor and shares a loving, brotherly moment. Sadly, this Loki variant may not experience this touching moment. Of course, this moment alone was filled with many emotions that even fans could not hold back.
