Pakistan Cuts Taxes on Imported Luxury Items
The government has reduced taxes on many expensive imported items, such as luxury cars, perfumes, bathroom fittings, and watches.
Big Reductions for Rich Buyers
The tax on new sports cars and famous brand jeeps is now 10% instead of 15%.
The tax on luxury sports jeeps has dropped from 90% to 50%.
Luxury ships, cruises, and boats will now only have a 5% tax.
Other Expensive Items
Branded sunglasses and watches will now be taxed at 24%, down from 30%.
Perfumes and cosmetics will have a 40% tax, reduced from 50%.
Bathroom Items
Wash basins and tanks: Tax reduced from 30% to 24%.
Bathtubs: Tax cut from 20% to 16%.
Ceramic sinks: Now taxed at 32% instead of 40%.
Home & Fashion Items
Artificial jewellery: Tax dropped to 36% from 40%.
Imported tablecloths and netwear: Tax reduced to 24% from 30%.
New Policy on Vehicle Imports
In another update, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb shared new plans for importing used cars.
From September 2025, people will be allowed to import cars up to 5 years old for business.
These used cars will have a fixed tax of 40%.
