Quaid-e-Azam Zindabaad movie starring Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa gets sets to be the first Pakistani movie to release after lockdown.
The two masterminds, Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Mirza are behind Na Maloom Afraad, Actor In Law as well as Load Wedding. In August of 2019, they announced that they will be releasing two feature films in 2020, under the banner of Filmwala Pictures. One of them is a patriotic film, called Quaid e Azam Zindabad, while the other is a superhero film, titled Fatman.
Looks like Fahad Mustafa and Mahira Khan kept their promise! The actors are finally coming together onscreen for ‘Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad’.
“I have never worked with Fahad Mustafa,” Mahira Khan previously told BBC Urdu. “I really wanted to work with him but there just wasn’t any time. I can’t even begin to tell you the number of projects the two of us have been offered together but the timing has never been right.”
She added, “But there’s mutual respect. I respect him and I like him a lot as an actor. I like that he supports people and it’s really imperative to me that a person should support others and our industry for that matter.”
It’s a WRAP!
‘Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad’ was wrapped up earlier this year before the country was hit by the Covid-19 wave. The cast and crew took to social media and announced the news, posting pictures from the set. “It’s a wrap,” shared Fizza Ali Meerza, followed by Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa, who also shared the news with fans.

Delayed Release?
Evidently the release was pushed due to pandemic, but it seems that the directors and producers of ‘Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad’ are more than ready to get on the release and be the first movie to be released at this time.
“People are going to restaurants and malls. Why wouldn’t they go to the movies?” asks director Nabeel Qureshi.
His movie Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad, starring Fahad Mustafa and Mahira Khan, is ready for release, and Nabeel and Fizza Ali Meerza, his producer at Filmwala Pictures, is considering a December 2020 release date.
Premise of ‘Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad’
Quaid e Azam Zindabad is said to be an action-comedy that follows the story of a notorious cop, portrayed by Fahad Mustafa while Mahira Khan is featuring opposite him. The film is expected to release on Eid ul Azha 2020 but was delayed due to the coronavirus storm that took over the country. Quaid e Azam Zindabad is said to be with lots of twists and turns and quick-witted humor.
Pakistani Cinema took a hit
The decision of releasing two films within a year came as a result of the ban on Bollywood films since Nabeel and Fizza believed it was important to release more Pakistani films. “Due to the ban on Indian films, we believe that it is more important than ever to support Pakistani cinema thus we have chosen to make two films. Our aim is to continue releasing quality content which pushes the boundaries and meets the audience’s expectations,” Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Mirza stated in 2019 in a joint press statement.”
Some cinemas may have closed down, unable to recover from the losses endured all through last year – a year when money-minting Bollywood movies got banned and the local industry released a spate of flops – with a final unequivocal blow delivered by the coronavirus lockdown.
Knowing this, even though a number of Pakistani movies wrapped up production some time ago and are all set for release, most local filmmakers are opting to wait until a time comes when visiting an enclosed cinema is no longer a health hazard. This could take several months.
