Pakistan Mourns as Major Rizwan Tahir Martyred in Noshki Mission

ISLAMABAD — Major Rizwan Tahir lost his life in a heroic act of service during a recent mission in Noshki, where an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated unexpectedly. The brave officer’s sacrifice has been widely mourned across the nation.

President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to Major Tahir’s courage, offering heartfelt condolences to his family. “Major Rizwan Tahir was a brave officer who gave his life for the nation. His martyrdom is a shining example of duty and patriotism,” he said during his visit.

Highlighting the enduring legacy of Pakistan’s martyrs, Zardari affirmed the nation’s unwavering support for the Pakistan Army. “The sacrifices of our heroes will always be remembered and continue to inspire the nation. We trust our army to protect the country and its people with dedication,” he added.

The President assured Major Tahir’s family of the government’s full support and recognized his role in upholding the spirit of patriotism.

 Pak Army Major among three martyred in Mastung IED blast: ISPR

Earlier, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that three Pakistan Army soldiers, including Major Tahir, were martyred in an attack in Mastung District, Balochistan. At the same time, four terrorists sponsored by India were also killed.

“On the night of August 5-6, 2025, terrorists linked to Indian proxy Fitna al Hindustan targeted a security forces’ vehicle with an IED in Mastung District,” the ISPR statement said.

Among the fallen were 31-year-old Major Muhammad Rizwan Tahir from Narowal District, 37-year-old Naik Ibni Amin from Swabi District, and 33-year-old Lance Naik Muhammad Younas from Karak District, all of whom paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
