Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has decided to significantly increase the prize money for the national hockey team. Instead of the previous amount of Rs0.2 million, the new prize money will be Rs30 million.
In a recent meeting with the national hockey team, Maryam Nawaz Sharif handed over a check for 3 crore rupees. She expressed her happiness with the team’s accomplishments, especially noting the restoration of national pride after a gap of 13 years.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif assured the team of her full support, alongside the Prime Minister, in revitalizing the national hockey team. She emphasized the historical importance of hockey for Pakistan and pledged to take necessary steps to uplift the sport.
Additionally, Maryam Nawaz instructed the provincial sports authorities to implement strategies to encourage sports participation. She reiterated her commitment to sports development in Punjab and stressed the need to establish sports academies to nurture talented athletes.
