‘Stranger Things’ Star Mason Dye Gets Engaged, Plans Summer 2026 Wedding
Mason Dye, known for his role as Jason Carver—the basketball captain at Hawkins High—in Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things Season 4, recently got engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Carmen Joiner. The couple celebrated the engagement following a romantic proposal on Valentine’s Day, a source close to the actor confirmed to a foreign publication.
Speaking about their relationship, Carmen shared that they plan to marry in the summer of 2026, which will mark five years since they first started dating. The wedding is set to take place at Cape Cod, a location meaningful to the couple, and the same spot where they took their engagement photos.
“Mason and I met through a mutual friend we’ve both known for over ten years,” Carmen said. “Our first date was a perfect mix of espresso martinis and breakfast for dinner at a restaurant in Atlanta. We fell in love that night.”
She also described the Valentine’s Day proposal as a sweet surprise. “He proposed by the lake near our neighborhood—a place we walk to often and hold dear. Honestly, Valentine’s Day seemed too obvious for a proposal, so it completely caught me off guard.”
On their upcoming wedding, Carmen added, “We started dating more than four years ago, and we’re excited to get married just after our fifth anniversary next summer. We wanted a destination wedding that felt fun and coastal because our friends and family come from all over the country. Cape Cod felt perfect—romantic, on the water, and a place everyone would love to visit.”
The couple’s engagement photos were taken at Mayflower Beach, and the ceremony will be held at Wychmere Beach Club.
“We can’t wait to celebrate with our favorite people and make lifelong memories,” Carmen said. “But most of all, we just can’t wait to finally be married.”
