McGregor Set for UFC Return at White House in 2026
Conor McGregor, the notorious Irish fighter, is set to make his long-awaited return to the octagon after nearly five years. McGregor hasn’t fought since breaking his leg during his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.
The UFC recently announced a one-off event at the White House to celebrate the United States’ 250th birthday in June 2026, and McGregor has been strongly linked to the card.
The fighter has been actively campaigning to headline the historic event and recently confirmed he had been in discussions with the U.S. government. McGregor has now announced that a deal has been finalized and he has officially signed a contract for his comeback.
“It’s a done deal, signed, delivered,” McGregor told Sean Hannity. “It ain’t a negotiation. It’s a done deal, signed, delivered.”
He added, “Dana [White] is in constant communication, we’ve done incredible business together. I’m the highest-generating fighter of all time in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.”
McGregor also highlighted UFC’s recent $7.7 billion deal with Paramount, which will bring UFC events to cable TV. “I’m ready to rock, baby. Bring in the big dog, the ‘Mac G’,” he said.
Fans can expect the Irish superstar back in action in one of the most unusual and high-profile venues in sports history.
