Millie Bobby Brown in Talks to Star as Olympic Gymnast Kerri Strug in Upcoming Biopic
Hollywood – Actress Millie Bobby Brown, 21, who recently announced the arrival of her first child with husband Jake Bongiovi, 23, is reportedly in final negotiations to play retired gymnast Kerri Strug in an upcoming biopic. Strug famously helped the United States clinch Olympic gold at the 1996 Summer Games despite competing on a severely injured ankle.
If confirmed, this would mark Brown’s first major role since embracing motherhood, and comes ahead of her planned exit from Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things later this year.
The film, titled Perfect, is set to be directed by Sofia Coppola, granddaughter of legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, and scripted by Ronnie Sandahl. Nik Bower of Riverstone Pictures and Thomas Benski of Magna Studios are attached as lead producers.
While the deal is not yet finalized, reports indicate that Netflix is in talks to acquire the project.
