"Na Baligh Afraad" is announced by Nabeel Qureshi alongside younger actors

Comedy fans have something to look forward to on their calendars, aside from the celebrations of a busy day: Eidul Azha. Nabeel Qureshi, a screenwriter and filmmaker known for his humorous yet thought-provoking movies like Actor in Law and Load Wedding, announced the premiere of a brand-new movie on his Instagram account this Eidul Azha: Na Baligh Afraad.

“From the makers of Na Maloom Afraad, Na Baligh Afraad,” proclaims Nabeel’s notice, which includes the title of the future movie on an outdated VHS tape. Nabeel closely guarded any storyline specifics. But after he made the announcement, the actors shared identical pictures on their personal Instagram accounts, eager to tell their friends and followers of the development.

The identical VHS poster was posted on Instagram by actors Samar Jafri, Aashir Wajahat, and Rimha Ahmad. Rimha wrote, “Very pleased to be able to share this news with all of you! Na Baligh Afraad. Get this Eid-ul-Azha out now! And a party emoji after that. Everywhere the poster was shared, supporters left positive and enthusiastic responses in the comments box, saying things like “Can’t wait!” and “So excited for this!”

Nabeel made his directing debut ten years ago in October 2014 with the action-comedy Na Maloom Afraad, based on a script that had been in development for years. It was shot in Karachi, one of the rare films to be developed wholly in Pakistan. Starring Javed Sheikh, Fahad Mustafa, and Mohsin Abbas Haider, Na Maloom Afraad also had Urwa Hocane, Kubra Khan, and Salman Shahid in supporting roles. The film chronicled the antics of Shakeel (Javed), Farhaan (Fahad), and Moon (Mohsin), who have a comical desire for enormous wealth and inevitably run into increasing difficulties while fighting their way through any means to achieve their goals.

Na Maloom Afraad 2 was released three years after the first film. It featured several of the same actors but shifted the action to South Africa. With Na Baligh Afraad approaching, the ensemble now seems to be mostly new faces. We now have to wait and see if the comedy that was a mainstay of Na Maloom Afraad and Na Maloom Afraad 2 will be upheld in the latest installment.
