According to reliable sources, there’s a strong possibility that Muhammad Aurangzeb will be appointed as the next finance minister of the country. This news has surfaced as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif prepares to select his federal cabinet.
Reports suggest that Ishaq Dar, a former finance minister who is close to Nawaz Sharif, may not be considered for the position due to health issues. However, there’s speculation that he could be offered another significant role, given his previous challenges with the IMF program during the Pakistan Democratic Movement.
Muhammad Aurangzeb, previously serving as the President of HBL bank, emerges as the top contender for the finance minister role. With over 30 years of experience in international banking, including leadership roles such as CEO of JP Morgan’s Global Corporate Bank in Asia, Aurangzeb brings a wealth of expertise to the table.
