The 16th National Assembly’s freshly elected members’ salaries are set to receive recommendations for a budgetary budget of Rs1.5 billion.
The proposal has been prepared by the Cash and Accounts Branch of the NA. Salary costs are estimated to be Rs411.1 million, allowances at Rs130 million, and operating costs at Rs891 million.
Benefits for NA members would include 25 business class tickets, travel vouchers worth Rs. 300,000, blue passports, and complimentary air and train travel.
Every day, they will get thousands of rupees for a variety of allowances, such as TAD, transportation, special, extra, home, and travel.
Each MNA will get a basic pay of Rs. 150,000 and supplementary allowances of Rs. 38,000.
Each NA member would receive a telephone allowance of Rs 10,000.
In addition, an office allowance of Rs 8,000 will be given to each of them.
Each MNA’s salary would also include an additional Rs 5,000 as an allowance and Rs 15,000 as ad hoc assistance.
Apart from the remuneration of the recently elected members, there will be other benefits such as a legislative package that entitles each MNA to daily and transportation allowances for attending the session.
The NA members are eligible to receive daily conveyance allowances of Rs2,000, Rs2,800, and Rs4,800 in rare cases.
Free domestic travel in business class and free international travel in first class will be available to every member.
Each participant will receive a travel reimbursement for air travel equal to Rs. 150 per kilometre during a session. This allowance will be Rs. 10 per kilometre for land travel.
A member of the assembly is entitled to a daily household stipend of Rs2,000 when they are on duty.
Every MNA will be permitted to travel with an official passport, as will their families.
The assembly members and their families will be given blue passports.
When an MNA is appointed chair of a standing committee, they would be paid an honorarium of Rs 25,000.
A member will additionally receive a private secretary, stenographer, deputy messenger, and driver if they are appointed chairwoman of a committee.
Additionally, 600 liters of petrol and a 1,300cc automobile will be given to the committee head.
