Lightning Kills Man and Livestock in Nagar Parkar Amid Rainfall
NAGAR PARKAR – Heavy rainfall in Nagar Parkar has claimed the life of a man and several animals after lightning struck the area.
On Tuesday, lightning hit a katcha hut in Pasol village, killing 32-year-old Taro Kohli, who was asleep at home at the time.
In separate incidents across nearby villages—including Mithrio Halepota, Rojh, and Dhanbhario—lightning struck grazing areas, killing 21 goats and two cows. Residents said the animals were in open areas close to homes when they were hit.
Officials from the district livestock department reported that since June 14, lightning strikes have claimed 193 cattle in Thar Parkar.
The provincial health department has warned residents to stay indoors and avoid open areas during rainfall and thunderstorms to prevent further casualties.
