In the midst of Israel’s ongoing war on Gaza, the well-known supermodel sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid have promised to donate a total of $1 million to support humanitarian efforts in Palestine.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), World Central Kitchen (WCK), HEAL Palestine, and Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) will each receive an equal portion of the funds.
These organizations are committed to offering food, medical attention, psychological support, and assistance for displaced families, among other necessities, to Palestinians impacted by the conflict.
A nonprofit organization called HEAL Palestine works to empower Palestinian children living in Gaza, and PCRF offers free medical care to underprivileged kids.
Under the direction of chef José Andrés, World Central Kitchen provides meals to underprivileged communities, and UNRWA USA backs relief efforts for Palestine refugees.
The announcement of the donation comes after Bella Hadid’s recent remarks in Cannes, where she supported Palestinians while sporting a Keffiyeh.
The sisters have expressed their concern for the situation and pushed for humanitarian aid via social media. Emphasizing her “deep empathy and heartbreak for the Palestinian struggle,” Gigi Hadid said that she lives with this responsibility every day.
