A Christian man in Sargodha passes away from his wounds nine days after a mob attack

Nazir Masih, a Christian, passed away nine days after suffering severe injuries in a violent mob attack in Sargodha’s Mujahid Colony, according to Express News.

The Regional Police Officer (RPO) spokesperson stated that on May 25, Masih was severely beaten by an angry mob. He said that the incident resulted in damage to his house and the burning of his shoe factory.

The spokesman claimed that Masih was not able to survive even after receiving nine days of medical attention in the hospital.

Enraged by rumors of blasphemy, Mujahid Colony residents began violent protests, which set off a chain reaction of violence. An infuriated mob set fire to Masih’s shoe factory and vandalized his home.

Following Masih’s rescue by the authorities and his critical hospitalization, more than a dozen people were detained by the police for allegedly torturing him severely.

The Urban Area police station had two distinct cases on file. A desecration case was brought against Masih, and cases of violence, attempted murder, and property damage were brought against about 500 unidentified people and 16 identified people.

Authorities stated that there was a great deal of disturbance because residents of Mujahid Colony had accused Masih of blasphemy. As a result of the violence, Masih’s factory and home were set on fire, and there was an attempt on his life via excruciating torture.
