The true reason behind Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' divorce is revealed

When actress Katie Holmes filed for divorce, Tom Cruise “did not see” that they would be splitting up.

Fans were shocked to learn of the star’s separation from Holmes, 61, due to concerns about Scientology.

Shortly after the birth of their daughter Suri in 2006, the 45-year-old actress from The Giver and the star of Mission Impossible tied the knot in a Scientology ceremony.

Sources claim that the Phone Booth alum felt scared by the Church of Scientology and feared it would turn her daughter against her, which is why their connection worsened over time.

Consequently, their divorce decree gave Holmes complete custody of Suri, which caused Tom to grow more and more estranged from his daughter.

The marriage of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes appeared to be in peril when Church of Scientology members moved into their Los Angeles home, according to Ron Miscavige, the father of Scientology leader David Miscavige.

Ron claimed that the church personnel moved into the couple’s home to make sure Cruise was taken care of and supervised, possibly gaining a lot of control over their home and fueling the couple’s discord.

“That didn’t sit so well with Katie, of course, and it hurt the marriage,” he stated in an interview with the Daily Mail. According to Ron, Katie was concerned that her daughter might have broken off communication with her in accordance with Scientology’s “disconnection” policy.

The now-divorced couple broke the heartbreaking news of their split on June 29, 2012.

The Oblivion actor expressed his “deep sadness” at his ex-wife’s choice to file for divorce.

Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children,” an actor’s representative stated at the time.
