Hareem Shah, a popular TikToker, told a local news outlet that she had applied for and been granted police protection in London after receiving threats and harassment from people who said she had stolen over £5,000 from them.
Shah strongly denied and denounced as deepfake any footage and images of the influencer that surfaced on social media last week from anonymous accounts. Shah accused her accusers of being part of the “mafia,” saying, “These are all British Pakistani people behind this, and they only went after me after I helped a girl who was being blackmailed.”
She then on, “They are all affiliated with different political parties.” “I’ve dealt with them legally; perhaps they believed that the UK was like Pakistan and they could get away with it. How could these people, especially during Ramadan, lie so much and resort to such tactics?
Shah, 32, fled Pakistan a year ago. Originally from Bahawalpur, he first relocated to Manchester before moving to London to avoid persecution. Shah shot back, saying, “If I had really stolen money from anyone, wouldn’t they have gone to the police and tried to have me investigated? ” in response to the accusations of theft made against her on social media. Instead, why would they try to intimidate, threaten, and defame me on social media?
Shah is optimistic that the right steps will be followed after filing a defamation lawsuit against people who have disparaged her on social media.
Shah said, “I am really grateful to the police for protecting me and helping me out financially.” As part of her efforts to support women, the social media celebrity disclosed that she had become a member of a women’s rights organization. Since gaining a sizable following on TikTok and being active on X and YouTube, Shah has frequently been involved in controversy.
