In honor of Pakistan Day, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) declared a bank holiday for tomorrow, March 23, on Friday.
“The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on March 23, 2024 (Saturday) being public holiday on the occasion of ‘Pakistan Day’ as declared by the Government of Pakistan,” the holiday’s notice read.
The letter states that banks would be closed tomorrow throughout the nation.
Every year on March 23, the country observes Pakistan Day in remembrance of the Lahore Resolution, which was adopted on that same day in 1947 and demanded the establishment of an independent, sovereign state for the Muslims living in the subcontinent.
The momentous occasion, which took place in Lahore’s Minar-e-Pakistan, was a major step toward the creation of a distinct nation.
