MrBeast, the enduring YouTuber whose antics, like giving away private islands, catapulted him to fame, has overtaken T-series, an Indian music channel, to become the most subscribed YouTuber worldwide.
MrBeast, whose real name is Jim Donaldson, is only 26 years old, but he already has an astounding 269 million subscribers. With the help of a remarkable surge in subscribers on Saturday, estimated at two million, he accomplished the feat of surpassing T-series’ record of 266 million subscribers. Every day, MrBeast adds about 250,000 new subscribers on average.

MrBeast was the person with the highest number of subscribers before he even became the most subscribed YouTube channel. After nearly 800 videos were uploaded to his channel, MrBeast declared on X that he had finally exacted revenge on YouTuber Feliz Kjelberg, also known to his devoted followers as Pewdie Pie.

2019 saw T-series, who is well-known for posting music videos and trailers, surpass Pewdiepie in terms of subscribers. The Sun claims that Pewdiepie topped the list of most subscribers four times in a row between 2013 and 2019—a total of more than 2,000 days. The Swedish content creator had mockingly stated in a follow-up video that all it had taken to fall was a “massive corporate entity with every song in Bollywood” after losing out to T-series in 2019. T-series lasted at the top for about 1,900 days before losing out to MrBeast.
According to the article, MrBeast started his channel in 2012 and has since evolved into a charitable endeavor. The YouTuber’s massive giveaways are well-known. He revealed that each video costs $2.5 million to produce while speaking at a podcast event with the All-In Podcast. Despite this, he said that it is not “crazy enough” given that his videos receive “a hundred million views in seven days.”
MrBeast reportedly reinvests the approximately £550 million he makes annually from the operation back into his channel and larger giveaways. One viewer of a video he shared in April won $250,000. Forbes ranked him first out of 50 top creators in 2022 and estimated his net worth to be approximately $500 million.
