Fans won’t have to wait more than a few days to see Nicki Minaj perform at Co-Op Live.
Her arrest in Amsterdam caused her event on Saturday, May 25, to be canceled, disappointing her eager audience.
Before leaving for the UK, the “Anaconda” singer was held for six hours at Schiphol Airport on suspicion of having soft narcotics.
The event was eventually canceled, despite the venue’s early claims that it was just postponed by a few hours.
Minaj expressed her heartfelt regret, and the venue’s problematic past—which included several cancellations—was brought to fans’ attention.
Co-Op Live in Manchester has already encountered controversy.
The formal inauguration of the arena, which was scheduled to coincide with the Rick Astley trial in April 2024, was rescheduled just hours before comedian Peter Kay’s performance, according to the Mirror.
The US developer of the venue, Oak View Group, stated that the postponement was due to their “commitment to safety”.
But more postponements were scheduled for Peter Kay’s and The Black Keys’ performances the next day.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, Minaj promised her fans that her concert would happen on June 3.
