In a brief conversation with mountaineer Shehroze Kashif, the famed Indian batsman Virat Kohli expressed the hope that he will visit Pakistan “soon”.
A video of Kashif’s brief conversation with Kohli was uploaded. The video was taken from the rear of the Pakistani mountaineer’s phone as he was speaking, so while Kohli’s face was hidden, his voice was audible.
“Please give my regards to your family and all of your friends,” the 35-year-old is heard saying. Since everyone has been traveling to Pakistan lately, hopefully we will go there soon.”
The mountaineer claimed that the video was taken in 2022 when he met an Indian citizen in Nepal who had never met before and who complimented him on his mountain climbing abilities.
The mountaineer “jokingly expressed” his wish to speak with Virat Kohli after the Indian man informed Kashif about his connections to the Indian national team.
He surprised me by messaging Kohli on my behalf, and we were able to speak over a video conversation. He stated in the caption of the video, “As a Pakistani, I humbly acknowledge Kohli as the greatest batsman of this era.”
To avoid getting into problems for “political reasons,” Kashif refrained from disclosing the identity of the individual who organized this virtual conference.
The right-handed batsman has been India’s top player for the last ten years. In an ODI match against Sri Lanka at Dambulla in 2008, Kohli made his debut. He has since participated in 292 ODIs, 117 T20 matches, and 113 Test matches. In all, he has amassed 26 733 international runs across all formats and hit 80 centuries.
With 661 runs in 13 innings at a 66.10 run rate, the star Indian hitter has become the league’s leading run scorer after an incredible performance in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).
The ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled to take place in the United States and the West Indies next month, and Kohli will be a member of his side.
At the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, India will play their opening World Cup match against Ireland on June 5. The highly awaited match between India and Pakistan will follow on June 9 at the same location.
