The first e-Rozgar Center in Pakistan is opened by IT Minister Dr. Umar Saif

The first e-Rozgar Center in Pakistan was formally opened last Tuesday by Dr. Umar Saif, the caretaker federal minister for information technology and telecommunications, in association with Excel Consulting Services.

The center has about one hundred fully furnished workstations with cutting edge amenities designed specifically for independent contractors. In the near future, exciting plans are afoot to expand the facility to accommodate 300 workstations.

At the inaugural ceremony, which was attended by a large number of dignitaries and independent contractors, Dr. Umar Saif, Additional Secretary MoITT Ayesha Moriani, and other authorities announced the launch of a national program to create 10,000 e-rozgar centers.

The center’s state-of-the-art features, which include private cabins, meeting rooms, training facilities, high-speed internet, and places specifically designated for start-ups, were highlighted by Dr. Umar Saif. He declared that this program satisfies the promise to offer freelancers the best possible working circumstances at reasonable prices.

Dr. Umar Saif also emphasized the initiative’s possible effects on the IT industry, estimating a $10 billion rise in IT exports annually. He stressed that these centers would increase freelancers’ ability and income through smart partnerships.

Finally, in order to ensure the smooth functioning and prosperity of these centers, Dr. Umar Saif assigned the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) the responsibility of provide technical support.
