The government will provide 10,000 e-Rozgar centers around the nation to help freelancers

To help freelancers under one roof, the government intends to open about 10,000 e-Rozgar centers around the nation in partnership with the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB).

An official from the Ministry of Information Technology (IT) stated, “E-Rozgar centers, already established by the government, are providing top-notch facilities to freelancers, including high-speed internet, UPS, training centers, individual cabins, meeting rooms, and separate office rooms for startups.”

According to the official, by allowing a sizable portion of the 1.5 million freelancers who currently operate independently at pitiful wages, as well as new freelancers, the government has delivered on its promise to the people.

He hoped that once this significant project was finished, IT exports would rise by $10 billion a year. These centers will also greatly increase freelancers’ capacity and income through public-private partnerships.

The official went on to say that the PSEB would give independent contractors the technical assistance these centers require.

“We are using every platform at our disposal to position Pakistan as a global ‘Technology Destination,’ and we have completed all the necessary steps to develop a strong digital ecosystem in Pakistan,” he continued.
