9 Militants Killed in N Waziristan Op After Infiltration Bid Foiled

9 Terrorists Killed in North Waziristan Operation, DPO Among Injured

NORTH WAZIRISTAN: At least nine terrorists were killed in a high-stakes security operation in Hassan Khel, North Waziristan, police confirmed on Friday.

According to the police spokesperson, the exchange of fire resulted in injuries to District Police Officer (DPO) Khalid Khan and Station House Officer (SHO) Nabi Khan. Both officers were immediately shifted to a local hospital for medical treatment.

The operation followed a thwarted infiltration attempt by the Indian-sponsored militant group Fitna Al-Khawarij near the Pak-Afghan border, as reported by ARY News, citing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The ISPR said security forces launched a decisive action in response, eliminating several members of the militant group. A large cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives was also recovered from the site.

The military emphasized that the successful operation highlights Pakistan’s firm resolve to counter cross-border terrorism and dismantle foreign-sponsored proxy networks.

Reaffirming the nation’s commitment to national security, the ISPR urged the interim Afghan government to prevent the use of Afghan soil by terrorist outfits targeting Pakistan.

“Regional peace is only possible when such elements are denied safe havens,” the ISPR said.
