OIC Summit Called Amid Rising Israeli Aggression
DOHA – A special summit co-sponsored by Pakistan is set to convene in Qatar in response to escalating developments in Palestine and the region. The meeting comes as Israel continues airstrikes on Doha, pushes forward with efforts to occupy Gaza, expands settlements in the occupied West Bank, and displaces Palestinian families.
Heads of state, government leaders, and senior officials from member countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) are expected to take part in the high-level gathering.
The summit follows a preparatory meeting of OIC foreign ministers held on Sunday, which was attended by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
Pakistan has strongly denounced Israel’s aggression against Qatar and neighboring states, reiterating its support for Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In a show of solidarity, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Doha on September 11, 2025, where he met with Qatari leaders to underline Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace, security, and stability.
