People arriving from a list of 10 countries will not be allowed entry into Oman; under the latest decision passed by the Supreme Committee to deal with COVID-19.
The move, which comes into effect from 12 a.m. on Feb. 25 (Thursday), was taken by the country’s supreme committee to deal with coronavirus; headed by Interior Minister Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi during a high-level meeting on Monday.
The decision will affect passengers coming from the following countries; Brazil, Ghana, Guinea, Ethiopia, Lebanon, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Sudan, South Africa, and Tanzania.
The list also includes people who have passed through these countries or transited through them in the 14 days prior to their travel to Oman. Exceptions to this are Omani citizens, diplomats of foreign missions in the Sultanate, and healthcare workers employed in the country and their families.
As it had said previously; the Supreme Committee also urged people in the country to not travel overseas unless absolutely necessary; so that people do not come into contact with more virulent strains of the disease.
In Oman, The Ministry of Health has registered 330 new coronavirus cases and 3 deaths.
The total cases in the country have now touched 139692 including 130848 recoveries and 1555 deaths, according to MOH.
In the past 24 hours, 195 recoveries were reported.
