The notice was issued during a hearing at the Sessions Court, presided over by Additional Sessions Judge, who scheduled the next hearing for September 3.
Orya Maqbool Jan, who was arrested by the FIA, has challenged the grounds of his detention, arguing that the charges against him are baseless and stem from a tweet.
His legal team contends that the case against him is contrary to the law and seeks post-arrest bail.
The court has directed the FIA to present its response before the next hearing, at which point the judge will determine whether to grant bail to the journalist.
The FIA’s cybercrime wing arrested Jan earlier last month for his alleged social media posts over the Mubarak Sani case.
