Pakistan Railways Cancels Pak Business Express, Shah Hussain Express Suspended for Four Days
Islamabad/Lahore, September 2, 2025 – Pakistan Railways announced that the Pak Business Express scheduled for today has been cancelled due to low passenger turnout.
At the same time, the Shah Hussain Express will remain suspended for four days, with services expected to resume on September 6, 2025.
Passengers affected by these cancellations will be accommodated on alternative trains. Pak Business Express travelers can board the Karakoram Express, while Shah Hussain Express passengers will be adjusted on the Green Line Express. A railway spokesperson advised passengers to contact their nearest reservation offices for further details.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Railways has also confirmed slight delays for other services. The Karakoram Express is expected to depart with a delay of 1 hour and 15 minutes, while the Tezgam Express will leave with a 1-hour delay.
New Islamabad-Rawalpindi Train Service Planned
In related news, Pakistan Railways is set to launch a new train service between Islamabad and Rawalpindi to better serve daily commuters. The plan was finalized during a high-level meeting at Railways Headquarters in Lahore, chaired by Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi and attended by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
During the meeting, officials reviewed the overall security situation across the railway network, with particular emphasis on protecting railway lines and operations in Balochistan. Ministers were briefed on ongoing measures aimed at strengthening security throughout the country’s railway system.
