Pakistan Stands by Qatar, Calls for UN Action Against Israeli Strikes: Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support for Qatar, stressing that Islamabad will not tolerate any violation of the Gulf state’s sovereignty or territorial integrity.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Dar described the recent strike on Doha as “entirely unexpected and unacceptable,” adding that simple condemnation is no longer enough. “A clear and actionable plan is now required,” he said.

Highlighting Pakistan’s defense capabilities, the minister noted that the country has a strong military force ready to protect its independence and national interests.

Dar emphasized the importance of the Arab-Islamic leaders’ summit in Doha, saying Pakistan has actively participated in response efforts, including a joint call with Somalia for an emergency UN meeting.

On the Gaza conflict, Dar demanded an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, warning that Israel’s strikes — extending from Lebanon and Syria to Qatar — prove that Tel Aviv has no real interest in peace.

He urged the international community to intervene and also pressed for reforms in the UN Security Council to ensure it can effectively address pressing issues such as Kashmir and Palestine.

Reiterating Pakistan’s stance on dialogue and peaceful solutions, the minister said, “Meaningful negotiations require seriousness from all sides.” He concluded by urging decisive global action to restrain Israel and safeguard civilians in the region.
