Bilawal threatened to make Bajwa public if he was forced to rescind his no-trust in Imran

Bilawal observes Alvi entangled in a judicial dispute about constitutional violations

An informed source said that on March 26, 2022, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto had advised former army head Gen (R) Qamar Javed Bajwa that he would go public if the military establishment forced the opposition to drop their motion of no confidence against the government of Imran Khan.

Numerous politicians were present at the meeting, which gained attention recently after Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the opposition at the time had moved the motion of no confidence against Imran Khan at Gen. Bajwa’s request.

While some of the lawmakers who were there at the same meeting have already refuted Maulana’s claims, it has been discovered that Bilawal Bhutto and the then-army chief had a straightforward conversation regarding the no-confidence motion. Then-prime minister Imran Khan dispatched the army chief and the director general of the ISI to meet with the opposition leaders and convince them to rescind the resolution of no confidence.

Bajwa and the current DG ISI had a meeting with the leaders of the opposition.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Bilawal had strenuously opposed Bajwa’s proposal to withdraw the no-confidence vote in exchange for Imran Khan standing in the midterm elections.

A source said that Bilawal Bhutto informed the army chief that the opposition’s democratic prerogative to file a no-confidence motion against the Imran Khan administration was a constitutional way to oust the prime minister. According to the source, Bilawal then warned Bajwa that he would go public if the military establishment pressured the opposition to back down from the motion.

Shehbaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari, Akhtar Mengal, Khalid Maqbool, Faisal Sabzwari, Malik Ahmed Khan, Bilawal Bhutto, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Khalid Magsi, Shahzain Bugti, and others were present in the meeting on March 26, 2022.
