Multiple Bus Accidents Kill Dozens Across Pakistan
Pakistan – Several tragic bus accidents have taken place across the country in recent days, causing many deaths and injuries.
In one incident, a bus traveling from Larkana to Karachi overturned after hitting a buffalo. Rescue teams said women and children were among those injured. All the injured were quickly taken to a nearby hospital. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
In another case, a bus going from Rawalpindi to Lahore overturned near Balkasar Interchange on the M-2 Motorway. At least eight people died, and over 20 were injured after the bus’s tyre burst. Rescue teams rushed to the scene, and the injured were moved to DHQ Hospital Chakwal.
In an earlier and more tragic accident, a passenger bus carrying wedding guests from Astore, Gilgit-Baltistan, to Chakwal fell from Thalichi Bridge into a river. 26 people died, and only the bride, Malaika, survived. She is being treated in a hospital.
According to Deputy Commissioner Astore, Muhammad Tariq, 14 bodies have been recovered and sent to Astore DHQ Hospital. The bus was also taken out of the river. Local people, police, and rescue teams are still searching the area.
These incidents highlight the urgent need for safer roads and better transport safety in Pakistan.
