Islamabad — The sixth round of the Pakistan-China Strategic Dialogue is set to take place today in the capital, Islamabad. The high-level meeting will be co-chaired by Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.

The visit by Foreign Minister Wang Yi comes as part of the ongoing exchanges aimed at strengthening ties between the two nations. The dialogue will focus on deepening the all-weather strategic partnership, with discussions covering all aspects of bilateral relations.

Pakistan and China Hold Sixth Strategic Dialogue in Islamabad

Key topics on the agenda include boosting economic and trade cooperation, as well as reaffirming the countries’ shared commitment to regional peace, stability, and development.

The fifth round of the Strategic Dialogue was held in Beijing in May 2024, co-chaired by Wang Yi and Ishaq Dar. Last year also saw significant diplomatic engagement, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visiting China in June and China’s Premier Li Qiang traveling to Pakistan in October for the 23rd Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit. Earlier this year, President Asif Ali Zardari also made an official visit to China.

These exchanges underscore the enduring partnership between Pakistan and China and the shared focus on strategic, economic, and regional cooperation.
