Famous Pakistani musician and actor Farhan Saeed, who was once a key member of the hit band Jal with Atif Aslam, has opened out about his previous interactions with Bollywood film offers. Saeed talked about his and the band’s rise to fame in India during an interview with Something Haute.
The Mere Humsafar diva remembered that throughout their national tours, she had several invitations to act. She attributed the attention to the band’s fame. “I used to receive a lot of acting offers when we performed in India as Jal. As you may know, acting offers are extended to anyone in India who get notoriety,” said Saeed.
He revealed in a lighthearted manner, “We used to laugh at it and refuse those offers.” The artist notably related an instance in which he was on the verge of signing a Bollywood movie. “I was locked in a movie with Mithun Chakroborthy’s son,” revealed Saeed. When we got together, they cast me as the musician.
Looking back on the chance, he was thankful that he ultimately declined it, saying, “Thank goodness, I didn’t do it.” The musician-actor also disclosed that the movie, which was originally supposed to be his and actress Urvashi Rautela’s debut, took an unexpected turn.
“I was meant to make my film debut with Urvashi Rautela. After speaking over the phone, the two of us decided to withdraw from the project together, Saeed continued. Speaking about his talk with the Pagalpanti actor, he stated, “We were like we don’t think we should take on this project.”
As luck would have it, the movie finally bombed, supporting their choice to call it quits. Although Saeed has a plethora of successful TV dramas to his credit, his film career has been a slower moving target. In Karachi Se Lahore 3, the Suno Chanda actress was originally slated to co-star with Kubra Khan in the lead role.
Saeed would have made his feature film debut in the third installment of Wajahat Rauf’s popular series, which was preceded by Karachi Se Lahore and Lahore Se Aagey. Nevertheless, due to personal obligations, the actor was forced to back out of the film. He said to Something Haute, “Unfortunately, I had to opt out because of my music tours and concerts that I had already committed to. I was offered the lead in Karachi Se Lahore 3 with Kubra Khan.”
In 2019, he made his screen debut as the lead in the romantic comedy Tich Button, which he and his wife Urwa Hocane co-produced under their joint production company, Shooting Star Studio. Before the movie was released on the big screen in 2022, it was delayed for a while.
