Government removes prohibition on travel abroad

With immediate effect, the federal government has removed the prohibition on all federal government employees, as well as officers of affiliated departments and autonomous bodies, traveling abroad.

A notification that was previously issued on January 29, 2024, has been retracted, according a notification released by the Cabinet Division.

Prior to the general elections on February 8 and the establishment of a new government, the government revoked all authorization for overseas travel and placed limits on it.

All federal ministers and the prime minister’s special assistants were subject to the same prohibition.

According to the announcement, all instances pertaining to overseas visits will now be handled in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Cabinet Division on October 26, 2018.
