It’s Usman Mukhtar’s moment. The actor, who has garnered a devoted fan base due to his several memorable roles, is scheduled to feature in the exciting film Umro Ayyar – A New Beginning. Usman, however, has more tricks up his sleeve considering that he will soon be seen directing and acting in films other than the massively successful silver screen production, which is itself a significant accomplishment.
When questioned about his future endeavors, the actor told The Express Tribune, “I love directing, and I often take some time off to work on short films.” “All I can tell you about this [upcoming] short is that it’s a beautiful script titled Toffee.” The actor had previously given fans a sneak peek of Jaffa, a future drama series, during an Instagram Q&A session. Furthering the same, he disclosed, “Jaffa is a drama that was written by Samira Fazal and directed by Danish Nawaz. It will be released shortly. In it, I portray an oncologist.”
Usman does not think twice about addressing the task that has been left behind as a tribute to his enduring legacy as he moves forward. Usman responded to the never-ending stream of inquiries about his former fan-favorite project, saying, “It’s overwhelming how many times I’ve been asked when Izza and Altamash are coming back since Anaa ended.”
He was keen to clarify, though, that his contribution to the project’s return was minimal. Giving viewers what they want is not within my control as an actor. There are several variables at work. Will the author create a second season? Will it be produced by [the production house]? Will every performer be back? Thus, I would want to address this query to the producing company,” he said.
I can say with absolute certainty that Usman appears to be completely focused on his joy for Umro Ayyar. Usman stated, “I think it will have a significant impact on the mindset of producers, giving courage to independent producers to create unique content and think outside the box.” while discussing the influence of such ambitious initiatives on the landscape of Pakistani film. I hope more producers and filmmakers begin experimenting with the fantasy and science fiction genres.”
Usman dived into his love of such storylines, giving context for his excitement. “People who know me, know that I’ve grown up reading comic books, going to comic cons, attending panels, and geeking out,” he said. “I recall purchasing the 1988 reprint of Action Comics #1 as my first significant financial commitment. Since I can remember, I’ve been a comic book and superhero nerd, but playing Umro Ayyar seems strange. I never would have thought that I would be in a movie this enormous.”
Usman talked on how Umro Ayyar influenced his early years, which helped to solidify his desire to take on the project. “What drew me towards the project was the project itself; I grew up reading Umro Ayyar,” said the actress. “My mother would visit me on the weekends when I was sent to boarding school, and we would visit a bookshop on Mall Road. She used to read me at least one of the novels I chose by Umro Ayyar before she went.”
Usman also took the time to express his devotion to the squad. “The most exciting part of working on Umro Ayyar was the cast,” he said. “I had the opportunity to collaborate with several incredible performers, like Simi Raheal, Faran Tahir, Ali Kazmi, and Sanam Saeed. It was exciting and frightening all at once.”
In his Eidul Azha remarks, Usman gave three main reasons why his hordes of lovers and followers, or just moviegoers in general, should see the movie: “It’s the first live-action sci-fi, fantasy film from Pakistan.” The model for it is Umro Ayyar. Being the first South Asian film to be shown at WonderCon, this film has already made history.” In addition, the celebrity said that being Umro was “truly a dream come true.” “To be honest, I consider it an honor to play Umro Ayyar,” he said. I never would have thought in a million years that I would get to play Umro Ayyar in a movie.”
