Induction of disabled army officers into the civil service is desired

In order to compensate officers wounded and incapacitated in the fight against terrorism, the Ministry of Defense has requested a quota in the civil service.

The targeted quote is separate from the Federal Public Service Commission’s current 10 percent quota for officers of the armed services employed in the civil service.

The Ministry of Defence has filed a letter to the Establishment Division requesting an additional quota. The letter made reference to a previous letter from March 29, 2023, asking for the injured military officials to be accepted into either the Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service or the Commerce and Trade Group.

According to the Ministry of Defence’s letter, the fight against terrorism has left many young officers physically crippled nationwide during the past 20 years.

They are unable to fully contribute to the army because of their physical disabilities, and they are not even eligible for the 10% quota since they do not meet the requirements for medical fitness.

Once more, the Establishment Division has been asked to take into account deploying war-disabled officers in the Ministry of Defence as well as adding them to the Security Group and other professional service units.
