PM confirms Gandapur and pledges to facilitate a meeting with Imran

Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday in Peshawar. During their discussion, Gandapur stated that Sharif had promised to facilitate a meeting between Sharif and PTI founder Imran Khan, who is now detained at Adiala Jail.

Speaking to the media following the meeting, Gandapur emphasized that the main topics of conversation were public affairs, law and order, and the province’s economic difficulties.

The K-P chief minister claimed to have spoken with the premier about the impending Senate election, stressing the need to handle security issues and arrange a meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan, who has substantial sway over the outcome of the vote. The prime minister pledged to facilitate the meeting in the Adiala Jail and guarantee a seamless election procedure.

Noting that it was his first meeting with the prime minister, Gandapur conveyed his happiness with the meeting. He revealed that important things had been discussed and that Prime Minister Shehbaz has promised complete cooperation.

Along with other top government officials, the meeting was attended by Federal Ministers of State and Border Affairs Amir Muqam, Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

Paying back debts to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa was one of the main topics of conversation. While acknowledging Pakistan’s economic difficulties, Gandapur insisted that reasonable demands will be made of the Center given the circumstances at hand.

Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, promised to settle the debts and asked officials to give a workable schedule for execution.

The Prime Minister Shehbaz has instructed the Finance Ministry to have negotiations with K-P authorities following conversations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to resolve the matter of payment of dues, according to Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal. It was suggested that a combined team made up of K-P and federal lawmakers be formed to work together on provincial concerns.

Chief Minister Gandapur brought up the issue of power load shedding during Ramadan’s Iftar and Sehar at the meeting. The prime minister gave the relevant ministry swift instructions to guarantee a continuous supply of gas and electricity during the holy month.

Gandapur also used the occasion to suggest Shahab Ali Shah for the position of Chief Secretary for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. This request, which emphasizes the continuous efforts to solve administrative requirements in the province, is anticipated to be taken into consideration by the prime minister.

The cooperative endeavors and guarantees provided by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif indicate a constructive move in tackling significant concerns in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, promoting collaboration between the national and local administrations in spite of political divisions.
