v PTI Secretariat is sealed by CDA due to bylaw violations

As part of its campaign against unauthorized structures and encroachments, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) closed the PTI Central Secretariat in Sector G-84 of the federal capital on Thursday night for breaking building bylaws.

A large police presence was present outside the PTI Secretariat while the unlawful buildings were destroyed.

In addition, a second story was added on the plot in defiance of the building bylaws. Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, the chairman of the PTI, hurried over as well.

PTI activists and police clashed as a result of the operation. During the conflict, PTI Islamabad President Aamir Mughal was taken into custody.

The operation, carried out in cooperation with the district administration, featured anti-encroachment teams outfitted with heavy machinery stationed at the location, according to a statement released by the CDA.

It further stated that a person by the name of Sartaj Ali was assigned the disputed parcel.

On the other hand, infractions against the building bylaws, such as the installation of a floor, were discovered. There were also reports that the political party had invaded the nearby territory.

The letter went on to say that during the previous few years, the property owner had received multiple warnings and notices from the CDA. “On November 19, 2020, February 22, 2021, and June 14, 2022, notices were sent. On September 4, 2023, a show-cause notice was sent. Since compliance was not attained in spite of these warnings, on May 10, 2024, the CDA issued a sealing order.
